This might seem like a no-brainer, but it took me a few stages previous the tutorial to discover the abilities screen. So it's value mentioning. Pushing "P" opens up your Abilities selection, which details your available space- or ground-based abilities, depending on your location.
When you're on a floor map -- your link, another provide, a world -- start up that Abilities selection and get to know your abilities. You likely have a few abilities that you didn't even know about, in aspect because the STO UI non-payments your skills menu to just one row of hotkeys. For example, when my Technology Officer was young, I didn't realize I had useful abilities such as Sonic Beat and Triage until I made the decision to mess with the UI a bit.
In the conventional skills menu, the first six hotkeys are for abilities, while the last four are reserved for on-use products, such as hypos and protect cells. But you should increase the menu very beginning on.
To do that, basically choose the icon at the right end of the skills menu that looks like a pack of three small file files. That brings up the figures 1, 2 and 3, which correspond to the lines of hotkeys available. Lower-level players can create do with two lines of hotkeys, whereas awesome players likely need all three. Once you've got another row of hotkeys available, drag and fall your additional battle abilities into the new slots. And of course, while you're at it, analysis each capability and what it does.
